Say or Will say. Help me out with this one, please

Hi,

This morning I heard an American professor talk about the internet. She said:

  • Some people will say that google and facebook know too much about our private lives, even about how fast we type.

I thought this should go like this

  • Some people say that google and facebook know too much about our private lives, even about how fast we type.

When checking the Cambridge Free English Dictionary online, I noticed it made a clear distinction between BrA will and AmE will.

Is there any difference in meaning between the sentences I’ve given you?

Thanks

“Will say” here means “think” or “are of the opinion that”.

Thanks Torsten for shedding some light onto this. So it’s not only used in AmE, but also in BrE. Stupid question, because if it were only used in AmE, you would said so.
