Hello!
I have to choose the correct quantifiers:(few, a few ,little, a little) for each noun.
1.There was …milk left,so SUSAN could prepare her favourite cake for lunch.(I think it’s ‘little’)
2…chefs become famous.(I think it’s ‘a few’ )
3…is known about diet therapy but people are interested all the same.(I think it’s ‘little’)
4.Do you eat hot dogs?Yes ,I eat quite… .(I think it’s ‘a few’)
5.She 's become …happier since she stopped worrying about the house…(I think it’s ‘much’)

7…people think so, but only…do something about it…(I think it’s 'few ',‘a few’)
8…people stay in cities during the hot summer months…(I think it’s ‘a few’)

Thank you for your time!

  1. A little
  2. Few
  3. Little
  4. A few
  5. A little (much is also possible)
  6. A little (some is also possible)
  7. A few, few
  8. Few

The main thing you need to keep in mind doing this exercise is that “few/little” denote a shortage of something and “a few/ a little” imply enough of something.

For example:

  1. I have a few pomegranates left in the fridge, so I won’t have to go to the grocery store to pick up some more.
  2. I have very few pomegranates left in the fridge, so I’m going to have to go to the grocery store to pick up some more.
