What does ‘put my hand up’ mean and why it can’t be ‘put my arms up’?

Hi Luby,

‘Put your hand up’ suggests that you are prepared to admit to everyone that you are supporting someone or something. It is a set expression. ‘Put your arms up’ isn’t a set expression.
