Prologue or Introduction?

Hi,
I’m assessing a project report handed in at a vocational school at the moment. The students who wrote the report use the terms “prologue” and “epilogue” instead of “introduction” and “conclusion”. I have already googled these terms + thesis but I am still unsure whether it is common to use prologue and epilogue to refer to the first and last chapter of a thesis.

They both don’t sound appropriate for a thesis to me. They belong more in the literary world as in drama.
