Problems with SAT critical reading

Guys, I need your help!
I am preparing for the SAT I (in October), but I have serious problems with the Critical Reading part of the test!
I am an international student, so I cannot take any preparation courses at testmasters or at any other preparation center (though I wish I could)…
I scored 650 in January on CR, but I want to improve my score to 700 if possible, no matter what it takes…
Can you give me any advise how to do better on long passages?
How do YOUb prepare for the critical reading???
I appreciate any advice!!!

Thanks,

Milica

Hi Milica

One thing you could try are some of the online practice tests. If you do a search in Google you can find quite a bit. Have you tried that? (e.g., Google search words: critical reading practice)

Have you tried to analyze where you have the most trouble? Is it mainly vocabulary? Is it inferring? Etc. If you can pinpoint your weakest area(s), you could then try to focus your preparation on those sorts of things.

Hi Martin

Your posts are clearly nothing more than advertising. There isn’t much that visitors to your website can find out. At least you seem to have gotten rid of the paypal requirement for registration.

By the way, I’ve never been able to get your sample test to work at all.

hi everybody,

there is no need of paypal account for registration, sample test, college serach, scholarchip search etc… all are free in this site. here lot of facilities are there for SAT test and can easilly improve the skill.
This is Free site for Online Sat test.

Verbal section can be difficult, yet interesting. Since verbal section is not really based on ‘how to speak English,’ learning certain techniques can be very useful for this section. I had a chance to travel to Korea last year, and I saw many foreign students reaching up to 650’s on their verbal SAT section by using some simple techniques. And of course, I brought them back to America. I felt like I went to a Kung Foo school, and came out with a top secret technique. Well, let me know if you are interested. = )

chococat, your website sucks.

lol since no one has really given a good site yet, check out smartdoodle.com

as an international student myself (long story), I know the test-prep industry in other countries is pretty hit or miss. the best thing to do is simply pick up books and read as much english as possible. no site can really teach you how to read or how to understand, but instead just offer tips and strategies.
