  2. His portrait(=picture) is drawn in portrait orientation
  3. He gazed out at the beautiful landscape of the garden.
  4. The landscape of the garden is drawn in landscape orientation.

  1. He had his portrait painted (while he was) in uniform. <-- the shorrer form is okay. It is understandable.
  2. His portrait is drawn in portrait orientation. <-- correct but sounds awkward. Most people would say “He was drawn in portrait orientation”
  3. He gazed out at the beautiful landscape of the garden.
  4. The landscape of the garden is drawn in landscape orientation. <-- sounds awkward so most people would just say “The garden is drawn in landscape orientation.”

An improvement on both the awkward ones would be:
The paper/canvas was portrait/landscape orientation.
