poke through / poke out through

Could you help me to figure this out. Are these sentences correct with “out” and without “out”?

01) The seedlings are poking through the soil.
02) The seedlings are poking out through the soil.

03) After the rain, sunshine poked out through the clouds.
04) After the rain, sunshine poked through the clouds.

also can i replace the “poke” with “peep” in above sentences.?

Hi House,

Adding ‘out’ to ‘poke through’ simply emphasises the action of ‘poking through’. ‘Peep’ usually relates to what people do but you could use it in your sentences if you wanted to give human attributes to inanimate things.
