Cristiano Ronaldo once said,” Many people do not like me because I am rich and handsome.” I think what he had in his mind is that people criticized him because they were jealous of his looking and richness. Furthermore, there are many athletes and entertainers share the same point with him. However, I assert that people do not like them because these celebrities do not deserve such high income; let me explain.
First of all, it is explicitly clear that some athletes and entertainers earn money in too easy ways. For example, Maradona was paid 2 million dollars for a single official appearance. By the way, all he has to do is talking with some fans and signing some photos. Likewise, David Beckham has earned millions of dollars through advertisements and all he has to do was just standing there for photographers taking pictures. On the other hand, many African farmers have the average wages below 1 dollar per day. They have to work very hard to take care of the crops or harvest their lands; that is so unfair.
Secondly, some entertainers earn their money not by their talents but by some tricks. Many models try to create infamous scandals to attract the attention of the world and therefore, they receive much millions dollars deals for advertisement. For example, there are several models tried to marry famous footballers or insisted that they had close relationships with football’s stars to gain fame. I do not think they deserve those enormous piles of money they earned. In the same way, entertainers often marry their kind since they will be even more famous. Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, Brat Pitt and Angelia Jolie are fine examples. Some entertainers even mean to expose some highly discerning parts of their bodies to be appeared on the newspaper.
In a nutshell, some athletes and entertainers do not deserve the huge profits they received. They often earn their money just like eating a cake and use many tricks to obtain their richness. I think there are more talented people who are just trying to make and meet like some traditional artists in Vietnam. I wish somehow the money from those entertainers and athletes’ pockets would disappear and flew into these talented artists’ hands; they will be able to fully express their skills.
