Please help me to correct the following sentences. Many thanks

  1. Potatoes and onion are prevented from sprouting by a new technology using radiation.

  2. They helped me a lot. I don’t know what I would have done/ had done without their help.

  3. A laughter is the best medicine.

Herr are my suggestions:

  1. Potatoes and onions are being prevented from sprouting by a new technology that uses radiation.
  2. Laughter is the best medicine.

Many thanks teacher, what about number #2 teacher, I don’t know what is the correct answer and why it is. shoud it be “had done or would have done”? Teacher

And one more sentence:

4. I am afraid that I lost/ have lost my gloves wwhen I was walking home.

In sentence number 2 both options are possible depending on what exactly you want to say. In sentence number 4 only the simple past is correct (…that I lost).

I have to say ‘would have done’ strikes me as the only possibility in that context.

To continue - would have done if they hadn’t helped me.
