Hi,
His perspective on this matter.
vs.
His perception on this matter.
What’s the main difference between these two words?
Can anyone give some examples to explain these words?
In my opinion perspective means the way way understand thing; while, perception means the way we see things with our own eyes?
Correct me if I’m wrong.
Thanks.

vs.
His perception of this matter.
Your idea is about right: his viewpoint vs his idea.
Perspective:
A particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view:
Most guidebook history is written from the editor’s perspective.
True understanding of the relative importance of things; a sense of proportion:
We must keep a sense of perspective about what he’s done.
Perception:
A way of regarding, understanding, or interpreting something; a mental impression.
Hollywood’s perception of the tastes of the American public is jaded.
We need to challenge many popular perceptions of old age.
Intuitive understanding and insight.
“He wouldn’t have accepted the invitation,” said my mother with unusual perception.
Each term has a number of other definitions too, but these are the ones you seem, concerned with.
Pardon my ignorance. I still don’t really grasp the meaning the words.
For example:
“Hollywood’s ‘perception’ of the tastes of the American public is jaded.”
vs.
“Hollywood’s ‘perspective’ of the tastes of the American public is jaded.”
To me they mean the same in usage. Please help. thanks.
As MM said, you have the idea.
‘Hollywood’s idea/viewpoint.’
Often there is such a minor difference between the two that it is difficult to decide which to use. However, often it doesn’t matter which you use for that very reason!
