'Patch up' vs 'Patch up for'

Could you please tell me what I should use in the following conversation–'patch up’ or ‘patch up for’?

A- Do you know they have finally patched up?

B- What was there to patch up for?
What was there to patch up?

Hi Tom,

To me ‘patch up’ means temporarily repair. It is often used in a slang sense for describing what a doctor/hospital would do as an emergency for someone injured in an accident.
