Opinions by famous people

158. When famous people such as actors, athletes and rock stars give their opinions, many people listen. Do you think we should pay attention to these opinions? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

I do not think we should pay attention to opinions of famous people such as actors, athletes and rock stars. Reasons for which are as below.

Firstly because they themselves are normal humans like us. They can be wrong and right too. They breathe same air as we do and walk on same earth. An actor might not be as good at a particular subject like a professional. A carpenter who is a layman would give better advice or opinion about a piece of wood than an athlete or a rock star.

Secondly these opinions might possibly be fake or unreliable. There is a strong possibility celebrities are saying lines which are given to them. Famous people are usually under constant pressure by media. In order to protect their identity or shed some media coverage away from subjects of their personal lives they might often struggle to deny the truth and give false statements. For instance a movie star who is about to premier a new movie has to date new partner in his or her movie, in order to gain more publicity. Or another example is that sometimes movie stars have to deny true facts like for example if Brad Pitt is going out with a local girl who is not an actress he might deny of knowing her, if media questions him, to hide her from attack of media. Celebrities are under constant chase by paparazzi to get some sort of juicy gossip for magazines and talk shows.

In conclusion everybody has his or her opinions and famous people are normal people too, only they have less privacy and more publicity. So I don’t think their opinions count much.
