One caveat to this, however; don't subject them to a rapid-fire interrogation!

Dear all,

Here is the sentence:One caveat to this, however; don’t [color=red]subject them to a [color=red]rapid-fire [color=red]interrogation!

How do I understand the words in red?
Can I understand them in below ways?
subject them to = make them under a kind of environment?
rapid-fire = cannot stop talking, and speak quickly and fluently
interrogation= when make a conversation, the way is like to question not communicate, but question a criminal?

Am I right? Thank you for your explaination.

That’s right.
