of/at

“You might have friends of/at the same age who weigh a lot more than you do.”
Is the sentence OK?
What is the correct preposition?
Can I omit the preposition?
Please explain. Thanks.

You might have friends of the same age who weigh a lot more than you do.
You might have friends the same age who weigh a lot more than you do.

I am a little bit curious about the sentence without the preposition. Can you tell me what does it mean or you mean to say the sentence is incorrect?
Thanks a lot.

Hi Noren,

This sentence contains a contraction:

You might have friends the same age who weigh a lot more than you do

This is a shortened version of: You might have friends who are the same age … and of course is perfectly acceptable.

Alan

Respected Alan sir,
