not on the best of terms

Are these sentences correct:
[color=indigo]1-John and Sally left each other not on the best of terms.
[color=red]2-John and Sally left each other, not on the best of terms.

[color=indigo]3-John and Sally left each other not on friendly terms.
[color=red]4-John and Sally left each other, not on friendly terms.

Does the comma change the meaning in any way?

Gratefully,
Navi.

The versions without the comma are less clear.

I would not use any of those versions, but prefer:
John and Sally were not on the best of terms when they left each other.
