Is this sentence correct:
[color=red] 1-The film is in the funny Chaplinesque style.
Do we need a comma after “funny”?
The Chaplinesque style is itself funny so “funny” here is not defining a sub-category of “Chaplinesque”. I wondered if in cases like this one would need a comma.
A comma would seem to imply that there is a genre called “the funny style”, which seems doubtful to me. Therefore I think I would leave it out. Compare: “The film is in a funny, Chaplinesque style.” where the comma seems correct.
