how one should understand - no future in pursuing that sort of discussion? why can’t we use - no interest?

Hi,

‘No future’ suggests that there is no point/purpose in following that sort of discussion. ‘No interest’ wouldn’t work in that sentence because it would have to have a personal subject: I have no interest in following that argument.
