more intelligent and kind

Which is correct:

[color=red]1-He is more intelligent and kinder than Harry.
[color=indigo]2-He is more intelligent and kind than Harry.

Gratefully,
Navi.

Hi.

(1) is all right and to make it clear that ‘more’ is not linked to ‘kinder’, you could make a distinction and say ‘and also’.

(2) would be better expressed as: more kind and intelligent. By putting the shorter word first, the balance of the sentence is improved and it is clear that both adjectives are linked to ‘more’.
