moon colonization

Permanent human habitation on a planetary body other than the Earth is one of science fiction’s most prevalent themes. As technology advanced and concerns about the future of humanity on Earth have increased, the argument that space colonization is an achievable and worthwhile goal has gained momentum. Furthermore, Moon proximity offers advantages as a site for such a colony like short transit time and easy remote control of machine from the Earth.
First of all, the short transient time allow emergency supplies to quickly reach to Moon colony from the Earth or allow a human crew to evacuate quickly from the Moon to Earth in case of emergency. This could be an important consideration while establishing the first human colony. Also the energy to send objects from Earth to the Moon is lower than for most other bodies.
Secondly, short distance of the Moon from the Earth allowing some kind of remote control of machines from Earth that is not possible for any other celestial body. If the Moon were colonized, then it could be tested that humans can survive in its microgravity, because Moon has one sixth of the Earth gravity.
In conclusion, space exploration is a worthwhile endeavor, and advanced of space exploration have confirmed settlement of the Moon as a logical step in the expansion of humanity beyond the Earth.
