Hi,

What’s the correct word when I’ve a phone call and want to end but will call him back after a few minutes?

I put down the receiver now but will call you back later.
I finish the call now but will call you back later.

I think I would say: I’ll ring off now and call you back later.

I never used this word (ring off) till now but it sounds good and will use it in the future.

Americans would more likely say, ‘I have to hang up now, but I’ll call you back later’. Ring off is a Briticism.
