meaning of "in the top half"

the low-cost mortgage specialist said that it was on track to increase its assets in the top half of its 15 percent to 25 percent target range this year.

I’m wondering what “in the top half” means in the above sentence ? Please help me !

I’m sorry I posted by mistake one more sentence and didn’t know how to remove it :frowning:

.
Ah! OK.

The company’s target range is 15% - 25%, and the top half of that range is 20% - 25%. So the company expects to increase its assets by somewhere between 20% and 25%.

Is that clear, quan?

Thanks a lot ! I really appreciate your help. Everything is bright now. .
By the way, it could have been much easier to understand. So why did AFP have to report the piece of news in such a complex way ?

.
It doesn’t seem complex to me; it is just Business English. It is actually quite concise: the phrase ‘in the top half of its 15 percent to 25 percent target range’ tells us its overall target and anticipated result at the same time.
.

I got it now. Thank you

Hi, Mister Micawber

Just to check that I got the meaning.
increase its assets in the bottom half of its 15 percent to 25 percent target range this year
that means that their assets will be increased by a number withing 15-20% target range?

Thank you !
