Make apologize or sorry

I couldn’t notice, when I was at the school, any difference between the use of “make apologize” and “sorry”, but I think in some occasions, I must use one instead of other.
Please, someone could say something about this subject?

Thank you very much

I am sorry for you not getting admission in medical collage.

Thanks a lot

Hello Acharyasd!

Thank you for your information. I thought that “to apologize” it was a verb used only formaly, or in writing English.
