Which are correct:

[color=red]1-I like to take a shower.
[color=blue]2-I like to take showers.
[color=red]3-I like taking a shower.
[color=blue]4-I like taking showers.

[color=red]5-I like to take a shower after working out.
[color=blue]6-I like to take showers after working out.
[color=red]7-I like taking a shower after working out.
[color=blue]8-I like taking showers after working out.

I think the plural is correct in the first batch and wrong in the second.

You are right.
6 and 8 read as if you take more than one shower after each work-out.
