"lay your hand" vs "rise your hand"?

Is “lay your hand” the opposite of “rise your hand”?
Should I simply use “put down” instead of “lay”?

Dear Subway,
I don’t think so. It’ll be appropriate to say “raise your hand” instead of “rise your hand”. And, “lower …” is safe to use, in my opinion.
