I've never climbed a mountain that is/was dangerous

I’ve never climbed a mountain that is dangerous.

I’ve never climbed a mountain that was dangerous.

Which is the correct sentence?

Thanks.

I think both are fine. A mountain that was dangerous probably still is, so either past or present seems appropriate.

How about: ‘I’ve never climbed a dangerous mountain’?

Hi Torsten,

That really is the essence of the sentence. But the sentence needs expanding to add an element of interest and to emphasise the point of making the comment in the first place. I would say -

I have never climbed a mountain that you could/would call dangerous.
