It is more important to work at a job that you enjoy than it is to earn a lot of money.

Obviously, people of the modern world are working harder than before. Job has become an integral part of our lives. The age in which a person starts working has decreased; even college students are looking for jobs during their studying. Retirement age has increased and people have to work more years throughout their life. These facts underline the point that we are spending most of our lives working, so we should have a job that we really like. An enjoyable life is not only beneficial to the worker’s health and future, but also it can positively affect society.

There is ample concrete evidence which has shown the significant association between person’s interest and his future success. A comprehensive review over the life of successful people firmly indicates that they were all interested in their job and felt deeply enthusiastic in doing what they were supposed to. Moreover, according to statistics, about sixty five percent of high-paid employees leave their job for the hope of finding an interesting one, and about ninety percent of this population firmly admit that they have no regrets for working in the second lower-paid jobs in which they are interested in ; they believe interest is the most important factor in their job and cannot be replaced by high salaries.

The important role of interest in the job becomes more apparent when it comes to psychological issues. According to psychologists, those employees who do not like their jobs are twice more susceptible to mental illnesses such Alzheimer’s disease. Moreover, a study which was performed in the University of California showed that about fifty five percent of those who suffer from depression have some kind of job reluctance during their worklife. Therefore, without a doubt, one should have enjoyable time at his work.

A further point which should be kept in mind is the role of employees and workers in building up a successful society. An employee who is interested in his work is far more eager to attract customers, as he would definitely show more respectful and enthusiastic behaviour to them. An employee who loves and enjoys what he is doing is always motivated to work hard and can bring about much profit for the company he is working in. This would lead to an economically successful society on the larger scale.

In a nutshell, the key to a successful society is having society members who are interested in their daily job. This would not only benefit the community as a whole, but also it would bring about social and emotional well-being to the person. I wish to reach to a point where financial matters do not oblige people to have jobs which they do not tend to.
