Is this sentence a mixed conditional type? “If each stripe in a striped candle melted in about an hour, about three hours would have passed when three stripes melted.”

I would rephrase the second sentence - three hours would have passed when three stripes had melted.

Yes, it is a mix of Type II and Type III conditionals. While I agree to Alan’s rephrasing to a great extent, I think “If each stripe in a striped candle melted in about an hour, about three hours would pass when three stripes melted” could also be acceptable.
