Is there a Russian equivalent to the word 'suspense'?

It just occurred to me that while there is a German equivalent to the word and genre ‘suspense’, (Spannung), there doesn’t seem to be anything similar in Russian. Any ideas? Thanks a lot.[YSaerTTEW443543]
