Is it right?

I was expecting the bike today.

or

I was expecting to have the bike today.

Which is the right sentence?

Thanks in advance.

loku

Hi,

There is perhaps a slight difference between the two:

This suggests to me that you had ordered the bike in a shop and it was supposed to arrive today.

This suggests to me that you thought you would have the use of the bike today - to be in possession of it.

Alan

thanks man that clears things up.
