Is 'heart' uncountable in this expression? [With heart filled with...]

Hi

Is ‘heart’ uncountable in this expression? An urdu writer has written this sentence.

Tom

There are too many “withs” in that sentence. And I think “heart” should be countable, and that in this case “emotion” should be uncountable.

I’d say, “Hearts filled with emotion, they bid him farewell.”

Thanks, Jamie

So, do you find this one correct too?

Tom

Yes, the second one is correct also, but I don’t think it’s quite as good when you make “emotion” plural.
