In the morning versus This morning

Hi,

What is the difference btw :

a. He gets up at 4 o’clock in the morning.
b. He gets up at 4 o’clock this morning.

Thanks
K

Hi,

In the morning in your sentence suggests every morning - on a regular basis.

This morning refers to today. The use of the present simple is not really suitable here. It would be better:

He is getting up … this morning

He got up … this morning.
