In a dramatic way vs. in a powerful way

Hi, we often have used Google to see how often a phrase might be used. Now, if you google ‘in a dramatic way’ and ‘in a powerful way’ you get almost the same amount of results. (more than 130,000)

What would you say is the difference between both phrases?

Thanks in advance,

Not so easy to answer, Torsten! I’d say it would depend on the context (a very handy all-purpose answer!).

In a dramatic way/dramatically means ‘very surprisingly’: it is having a dramatic effect on our sales; imports have risen dramatically.

In a powerful way/powerfully means ‘very strongly’, but without the surprise or shock element.

Also, they can be used together as in ‘powerfully dramatic’ or ‘dramatically powerful’.
