if caluses

Which one is correct in this situation:

Could you correct me if I made mistakes?
Could you correct me if I make mistakes?

in which situation?
Both are correct sentences.

In a polite request.I would like to know if after the present conditional it can be used the present, instead of the simple past.

Yes, you can. Both versions are correct.

  1. Could you correct me if I made mistakes? ~ I see this as a conditional sentence.
  2. Could you correct me if I make mistakes? ~ I see this as a polite request.

In #1 the modal could is in its subjunctive form.
In #2 it isn’t.

Please a teacher let me know if I am wrong. Thanks
