There are two clause in hospital volunteers’s form that I donot understand, need explanation:

1-we accept college and/or university students for placements.

2-Hospital recognizes the contributions of volunteers.

There are two clause in hospital volunteers’s form that I donot understand, need explanation:

1-we accept college and/or university students for placements.

Here a “placement” means a job, so college and university students are accepted for the job openings.

2-Hospital recognizes the contributions of volunteers.

Here “recognizes” means appreciates, the hospital appreciates or is grateful for the volunteers’ work.
