how to interpret the lines in the song "Only Hope"

Hi,

I have a question on how to interpret lines of the song “Only Hope”.

Sing to me the song of the stars
Of your galaxy dancing and laughing and laughing again

I take it as “Sing to me the song of the stars of your galaxy. The stars are dancing and laughing and laughing again.”

But some of others take it as “Sing to me the song of the stars of your galaxy. You dance and laugh while you’re singing the song.”

What do you think? Which is right? Or… do you think both are acceptable?

I want your symphony
Singing in all that I am

In this case, I think I would say “I want your symphony to sing in all that I am.” Maybe since it is a song, so “to sing” changed to “singing” to make the song easier to sing.

Or… “I want your symphony which is singing in all that I am” (sounds weird to me), maybe.

What do you think for this case? Any other suggestions?

Anyway, the song by Mandy Moore is really nice.

I think both are acceptable: it just depends on what the songwriter intended. Perhaps he was intentionally playing with both interpretations. My first guess would be to take “dancing and laughing …” with the stars, because I think stars are sometimes said to dance or laugh, though I do not remember the context.

Again, it is hard to say: both options are possible, and I think they mean nearly the same in this context. You might even rephrase your second one like this, though: I want your symphony [to be] singing in all that I am, which also means almost the same.
I do not know the context of these lines at all, but in theory it could even be thus: I want your symphony, [and I am] singing in all that I am [about this symphony].
Poetry is the most difficult genre (if we may call it that) to analyse, because it has so much freedom.

Anyway, the song by Mandy Moore is really nice.
