Hi, I wonder what ‘how he was going’ means in the following sentence and why it doesn’t read ‘how he was doing’: I remembered his story while sheltered in the rocks, and I looked towards the camp wondering how he was going at the medical centre. To me it’s all about nuances there. I’d interpret ‘go‘ in the original as ‘continue to live through hardship or adversity‘ (“I don’t know how much longer we can go without food”). That is, he was enduring his stay at the medical centre.
‘How he was doing’ could mean ‘get on\fare\carry on’, with slightly different meaning (no implication of adversity).
