How do you, personally, pronounce the word “terrorist”? Listening to some native speakers ,I often hear it as “tourist”, but some pronounce it as “terrace”, apparently.

if so,
you can check it out at the website

really good one.
I often look up the words that I don’t know from that web
Ok, try this 'te-ror-ist, practise each component syllable slowly, then progressively speed up. Emphasise the ‘te’
Hope this helps.

Is that how you, personally, pronounce it?
This is how I pronounce it which is kind of standard in the US.
merriam-webster.com/dictionary/terrorist (click on the speaker symbol next to terrorist).
Many people pronounce it differently especially in the South (of US), like President Bush, …but then Bush is an idiot so he doesn’t really count. He can’t pronounce a lot of things (like nuclear).
Thanks, Diverhank.
I probably do say it more like terraced when speaking quickly - emphasis on the quickly. “Terraced landscaping” and “terrorist attack” will have a very similar-sounding first word in rapid speech. In slightly slower speech, you’ll here a HINT of that third syllable with an extra “r” sound, terr-r-ist. In careful speech, you’ll hear that third syllable clearly.
