How do people react to your accent?

what kind of experiences have you had communicating? how do people react to your accent? please share any stories you might have.

Personally, although being English, I feel my accent is not a really good one, but many German people say I speak my German with a wonderful accent, so make of that what you will.

The test of accents, like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder.

I would be delighted if all of our members would just drop the apparent fixation on accent.

It is unimportant. Just open your mouth and let the words come out in your natural voice. If folk don’t like how you sound, then that is their ( sad ) loss.

You may just turn out to be an angel, or the best friend they will ever have.

Hi Bill,

Couldn’t agree more.

I happen to agree. . .but the fixation is there, and worth taking a look at. Am actually working on a project on the interest in accent reduction.

Good morning Trixie. I would be interested in seeing the outcome of your project when it is finalised.
