mean the same?

As far as I am concerned; they are the same. Cambridge on-line dictionaries says:

How/What about?
used when suggesting or offering something to someone:
How about a trip to the zoo this afternoon?
“Coffee, Sarah?” “No, thanks.” “What about you, Kate?”
