'he was born blind' (born blind?)

I have just read a strange sentence. That is ''he was born blind" I wonder why we can put blind after born, maybe for short but can you tell me in which cases we can write for short like that.Is this the special usage of the participle ‘‘born’’ or we can use others like that.

.
I suppose it is a somewhat idiomatic construction, but other predicate adjectives following ‘semi-linking’ verbs certainly exist: he was born blind/stupid/rich; she arrived hungry/tired/angry.

There is a grammatical name for this construction, but it has slipped my mind.
