habit vs. fact

I had a discussion with a friend of mine about the use of words Habit and Fact.
I think Habit is more used for people and Fact is something which happens frequently, like:
It rains a lot in my country. (for me this is a fact but I can’t consider a habit)
but: She likes to eat meat (for me this is a habit, but I can consider also a fact, because, lets say,I know…)
Could you please explain more in detail ?

Thank you in advance

Sorry, Bler, but I see nothing worth arguing over. I agree that only living beings (including animals and even plants) can have habits in the sense of regular routines-- although the word is used figuratively for rain and such-- but as far as simple present statements about people, both interpretations are no doubt often valid and inextricable.

Thanks!
