Grammar: When I can use DOES or DO in a question?

When I can use DOES or DO in a question?Give me some examples, pleased, because it’s so dificult for me!!THANK YOU!!

A good question.

If the question is in the present simple and involves a verb other than “to be,” it starts with “Do” or “Does.” Use “Does” if the subject is third-person singular (he, she, it, John, Sally, the cat, etc) Use “Do” everywhere else.

Do you like tennis?
Does John work with you?
Do they live next door?

Are you American?
Is John hungry?
Are they awake?
