I’m having intention of learning to test for SAT but have no experience for it , so i need your advices and suggestions from you about which book i should use or some experience in learning for SAT

Well, there are plenty of books, websites, and preps online offering their advices to preparing for the SAT. But really, they are all saying the same methods. I will list a few here:
- Take as many pratice tests as you can, under timed conditions. That doesn’t mean you should spend 4 hours every time you pratice, but just focus on what you need to improve. But if you haven’t taken the SAT before, then it would help to try the 4 hour simulation to know your starting point.
- Read. Read anything that you are interested in. Because you have very little time for the reading sections, you should speed up your reading. Be an active reader and really try to understand the text while trying to speed it up as well.
- Know your vocabulary. Wheter you learn words best by listen to audios, using flashcards, or whatever, spend a bit of your time every day learning the words. Slipping in a few words in everyday situations - while talking or writing - can help as well.
- Use your SAT prep materials. There are numerous products out there - books, cds, prep classes - ranging from 0 dollars to thousands of dollars. Find something that’s right for you and stick with it. For books, I recommend the Official Guide to SAT & Barron’s SAT. For cds, Flocabulary is pretty nice - if you like rapping. For SAT preps, I personally like online preps like ePrep and GMAXSAT. You can get one-on-one tutors too, but this is a rather pricy option.
I hope this helps. Do your best. Remember that SAT doesn’t measure your intellegence. It’s tests how well you take the SAT. Good luck!

Also, training your brain to in general comprehend more efficiently is important. this can be accomplished by doing activities that just promote brain agility (word puzzles etc)

learning for the material itself can also be accomplished by reading the newspaper, and reputable magazines (news, etc)
also reading in general is good. find books that are on your reading level or higher (young adult and regular adult etc) so that you can learn to comprehend better in general.
this will help you with vocab, reading comprehension and possibly even grammar.

First get The college Board’s Official SAT study guide has all you need from test taking strategy to 8 sample SAT tests. It is by the people who make the test so you cant get closer to the real thing. Then get the book Answers and Explanations by Peter Tanguay. It gives you the FASTEST way to answer the 8 sample tests in the college board’s official SAT study guide. Any book can show you how to answer these questions, this book shows you how to get them the Fastest way. Since the SAT is a timed test this is what you really need.

Flashcards are the way to go for vocab. And don’t just drill with them, do some every single day. For reading comprehension, use practice tests and in everyday life, try to take apart the things you read a bit. It’s really about training your brain to think in SAT mode. Math is my weakness, so I needed something extremely comprehensive that worked up to SAT level (not too easy). I ended up using this set of ebooks (which comes with a lot of extras) [u]SAT 1, SAT Books, 2200+ SAT Preparation Strategy @ MY-SAT.com. I also like ebooks because they are SO MUCH more affordable. Just find one that works for you!
I checked out the links/suggestions you guys posted. They seem all very helpful, but they all charge a bunch of money. I know there are a bunch of free resources available as well. Anybody know any decent ones?
get the college boards official SAT study guide. It has 10 actual previous SAT tests to practice. Then get Answers and Explanations 2nd edition by Peter Tanguay. (green on cover not orange.) It has complete explanations on how to do all the questions especially helpful with the math. I did it and got a 2100 overall and 750 on math good luck.
yeah but its like a zillion dollars. I actually just signed up with practicethesat.com for their weekly scheduled test, which is free to use and you compete against other students and they give out a prize to the top scorer. its pretty good stuff to get you motivated

This is some great info from some experienced people. Just try to understand what the test maker is asking for, and know the usual tricks they try to get you to fall for. Then prepare yourself to notice these tricks on test day. The SAT follows a basic formula which really doesn’t change that much. Many books or tutoring courses are great to learn these, but you are correct in that cost is the obstacle there. You want something relatively inexpensive that will be convenient and fun to use!
