Hi
Please tell me if Frankenstein was the name of the scientist or its creation in Mary Shelley’s novel. I am asking this question because my friend has a lot of scars on his body and his mother lovingly calls him " my Frankenstein" .
Regards

This Wikipedia explanation will clear our doubts:
The monster itself had apparently no name, but everybody refers to him as Frankenstein. Have you seen the comedy Young Frankenstein, by Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder? It’s absolutely hilarious!
Frankenstein is the name of the scientist. Victor Frankenstein
Usually, when you say “Frankenstein”, native speakers understand you as talking about the monster. If you want to prevent this, you have to say “Dr. Frankenstein” and “Frankenstein’s monster”.
