for [the] MS in...

Hi,

I am applying for [the] M.S. in Computer Engineering at your institution for Fall 2015.

Should the word “the” be there in the above sentence?

Either the definite or the indefinite article is needed there.

So,

I am applying for an M.S. in Computer Engineering at your institution for Fall 2015.

This is okay as well?

Hi Beesnees,

Should I place “the” before “Fall 2015”?

Thanks

Hi Beesness,

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Does the course only go on for one semester?
If so, I would say:
…institution for the Fall Semester, 2015
If it goes on for longer, I would use:
… institution commencing in the Fall Semester, 2015.

It goes on for longer. So, is it wrong if I use just “Fall 2015”? As in,

“I am applying for an M.S. in Computer Engineering at your institution for Fall 2015.”

I’ve indicated what I would use.
