Finding mistake: She entered politics in 1989, and went on becoming a minister...

Hello,
Please look at the exercise below :
Finding mistake:
1.She entered politics in 1989 ,and went on becoming a minister two tears later.
2.the dispute was arisen from a disagreement between a landlord and some students in a tavern.
Sentence 1: the answer is ‘‘becoming’’ but I don’t understand .I think ‘‘becoming’’ is quite appropriate.
The same is in the sentence 2 ,the answer is ‘‘arisen’’ but why?
Please explain it for me!!!
Thanks in advance

Hi duc

Here are your sentences with the corrections:

1.She entered politics in 1989[color=blue], and went on [color=blue]to become a minister two [color=blue]years later.

You can use ‘went on to become’ to mean something similar to ‘afterwards became’.

2.[color=blue]The dispute [color=blue]arose from a disagreement between a landlord and some students in a tavern.
The verb ‘arise’ is intransitive and thus cannot be used in the passive voice.
