My story for this week
On 15th of july, I finally decided to relocate to Mysore from Bangalore after enough discussion among my friends. Generally, it is more troublesome when one is moving all alone after spending a good number of years with a group of friends in a lively and a nerving city. In my case, the same feeling occured in me recently because my job required me to change the location.
To be honest, pre-relocation and post- relocation for few weeks were crazy moments though the distance between Bangalore and Mysore is only three hours in a bus. A flood of thoughts came to my mind whether to move on or not even after confirmation mail from the office for the change . Most of my friends and colleague felt that I should go on to discover myself, and if things did not worked out for me as expected, then I could comeback anytime. On the otherhand, my gf had an emotional stand saying dont go there baby. She and I tried to make a final decision together over the phone weighing loss or profit on moving to a new place . Everytime profit outweight loss, she jumped in with a counter offer to beat the plus points. And I enjoyed the process. Eventually,she was pissed off after long chit-chat, and also she hated my questionaire mind and told me its my choiceo afterall. Yes, I made up my mind to move on simply to explore the new place and learn something. I want to confess here, I am usually an indecisve guy even on a trivial matter like shopping for basic neccessity. That leaves me with an extra burden for myself and for my companion too.
The major reason why I wanted to change to a smaller town was I hated the traffic in Bangalore as my work consume 3 hours journey to and fro everyday( hell lot of time if u count a week, months and a year). Also, I am physologically tired of living in Bangalore after spending five years studying and working together. We hardly find place to slow down and refresh our mood. Thanks to a boom in a real estate leaving no stone unturned, every little space is being used for something to profit from in a city. My friends believe that a property in Bangalore can ease ones own financial burden.
In a great confusion, I packed few nice clothes and then went on my friend’s bike to the city bus stand at 9’ clock. On reaching there, I thanked him giving a sum of rs 1000 for lunch in my name. As a tibetan tradition ,first he was hesitant but then I joked him about a sumptous lunch waiting for him.
I boarded the bus to Mysore at 9am with a heavy heart and reached there around 12 noon in a pensive mood. On reaching the office enterance, I called up the coordinator immediately and he escorted me through the campus and finally to the guest house. As we were passing through the campus, I was really mesmerised by a magnificent and a diverse architecture of buildings and its heavenly breath of its nature. I was rejuvenated again. I thought, maybe this was for me.
It took me a few weeks together to familarise myself with so many food courts, coffee day and all major fast food like dominoz , super market all in the arena . I was given a shared rooom for two for ten days as a guest. As I wondered what about my roomie what kind of guy, the same evening, he walked in the room swiftly wearing a gentle smile on his glowing face. Lateron, after much interaction and walk around the campus, I found him a very nice and a helpful techie.
The tough thing is about finding an accomodation outside since I was given only 10 days stay as a guest. So, I got a list of house for rent with address plus telephone number nearby the office . While looking out for a house myself, I tried myself to be an adventurous enjoying the scene and some refreshment tea in between. After checking for two days, finally I got down to one house- small and bright enveloped by trees. I like it! The funny thing was that the house owner could converse only in his local language, and so we both were helpless many times. Suddenly, he gave me a piece of paper showing a house deposit and monthly rental. That was our means of communication! I could not bargain much because of a communication gap between two aliens. All throughout these journey, I learnt that I love taking a risk and enjoy the journey too.
