Expression: 'Legend has it that…'

Hi

Is legend has it just a fixed phrase?

Can it (also) be used with the indefinite article (a legend)?

Morning, Tamara.

The format for this expression is fixed and you would not use an article:

Legend/Rumor has it (that) …

Amy

Morning Amy,

Thanks!

I think it follows the same pattern like Rumor has it…[YSaerTTEW443543]

Yes, Torsten, Amy mentioned the case.

By the way, can rumor(s) be also used in plural (in the phrase)?

If not, when rumors is (are :)) used in plural? What is the difference?

Hi Tamara,

I wouldn’t make ‘rumour’ plural in that expression. To express plural you could say: There are rumours going around that …

Thank you, Alan.
