Expression: "Just wanted to..."

Could you please tell me if the following lines are natural and correct? Any suggestions are welcome.

Just wanted to tell you that wretched woman is again sitting next to me–and the whole cafe is echoing with that deplorably bad and distressing sound of her baby’ crying. The cafe owner took the baby in his arms for a few minutes in a vain attempt to console her/ him, but to no avail. I don’t mind her coming to the cafe or her baby crying, mind you–I only hate her time synchronizing mine so perfectly well.

Hello Tom,

I would omit the apostrophe after “baby”; omit “vain” (implied in “to no avail”); and change “console” to “comfort”.

For the last clause, perhaps: “I just hate the fact that her visits coincide with mine”.
