Expression: "Forgive and forget"

Hi

You may have heard the expression forgive and forget! If I deviate a bit from it changing the verbs into adjectives, what should I use? See below, please!

1- She has been very forgiving and---------- all these years. ([color=red]forgetting sounds ugly here)

Could you please help?

I would be grateful!

Tom

Hi Tom

You’ve changed forgive and forget into adjectives and I agree: It does sound odd that way.

What about using the present perfect continuous instead, for example?

Amy

Hi Tom,

Perhaps you could say very forgiving and willing to forget.

Alan

Thanks, Alan and Amy!

Interestingly enough, Amy, when I tried to turn my sentence into present perfect continuous, it turned out to be the same!

Tom

P.S. with the exception of very, of course!
